Midi export seems broken

I also mentioned this in my feature request post.

The midi export  seems to be fundamentally broken. If I make a pattern or several patterns of 4 instruments each and some drums and export that midi out into a DAW (in this case Reaper) only the top midi instrument / pattern (instrument 1) will work. So to explain, I open my DAW, I preload 7 instruments (4 synths) 4 drum instruments to cover the 4 instruments from 1bitdragon and the drums. I export the midi out of 1bitdragon and drag the midi file into Reaper DAW. Each of the individual midi files goes onto one of the 7 tracks in my daw. When I hit play only the top, the first synth/instrument plays. The 2nd through 7th midi tracks won't play. If I drag any of the other 6 midi parts into the top track they won't play. If I drag the first/top midi into the 2nd through 6th instrument tracks they will work. If I take a different multi part/multi track midi that I bought and drag it in all tracks work fine.

Somehow when 1bitdragon exports midi only the top / first instrument works. The 3 other instruments and drums midi don't work at all. I've tested this several times. It's not my DAW its not my configuration because again I can insert other midi that isn't from 1bitdragon and it works fine on the same instruments/ synth Vsts.

Something is seriously messed up with your midi export in 1bitdragon.

I made a techno polka sounding track in 1bit dragon yesterday after buying the program and really enjoyed the process but I want to export the midi to my daw piece by piece and currently you can't export separate patterns (unless I missed something), but even when I export all the midi as stated above it doesn't work. I have to re-do the entire song by hand in my piano roll in the DAW. I would prefer to be able to just drag the midi onto whatever track I need. Being able to export individual midi tracks in each pattern separately would be a great help as you can change instruments from pattern to pattern so it's really necessary to be be able to just export 1 instrument on 1 pattern individually as they can change from pattern to pattern making extracting the entire song midi useless as I then have to chop it all up in the DAW. I love the simple interface of 1bitdragon and I with it was a VST or able to drag and drop any section in any pattern.

Anyway thanks for making a great program. I hope you improve upon it with time.

Hi DiglyD

I can't reproduce your bug. I open a template in Reaper, with preloaded instruments, and I drag the midi file into Reaper DAW. When I hit play, all the instruments are playing:

Maybe you can give me more details to help you please?
