He strokes Sam's hair, trying to keep him quiet/comfort him
Sam: -he not having a nightmare or anything so he's fine-
(Sams just not a very heavy sleeper so if there's some kind of noise he might wake up)
Yeah they're talking pretty loudly right now and Kaz knows Sam's not a heavy sleeper, hence the desire to not have him wake up because Kat is f*cking terrifying and Kaz doesn't want Sam to have to deal with that
