Hey, I have been playing until the second boss by now and I have to admit this game hits hard emotionally but there is a couple problems that make the game unfair at some points:

  1. Mini-boss respawn: mini bosses like the open head blue scorpion thingy are great BUT when you have to fight them over and over again it isn't challenging but tedious, making them not respawn after killing them and then dying another more interesting solution would be changing them to a non boss when you respawn, so they would be not as annoying and tedious

  2. Enemy variety: sure making interesting enemies is quite difficult but the very low amount of basic enemies is absurd, after the first bossfight this was way more noticeable, the Fly things are very repetitive aswell as the Blue scorpions, 2 or 3 more will make this a bit less noticeable and not so repetitive.

  3. The Enemy attacks: mainly ONE big problem, usually when you dash though an enemy/boss the projectiles will suddenly change directions, i am not a programmer but a change i would implement is saving the players location and then firing at the saved location, not the player, because this happens so fast it is directly imposible not to get hit and it looks horrible when the enemy looks to the right, you dash to the left and the bullets just go right though the enemy and hit you, it makes some parts of the game unfair because of the apparent randomness of the attacks.

I also had a little bug where if i die and close the game the pool of ashes disappears, a possible solution may be just saving it when you close the game but if it isn't that much of a nuisance, it hay be something intentional, if it is sorry for pointing that as a bug ;-;

That aside though, this game hits emotionally (though that is multiplied with me having a really low self stem) and in dialog it hits just right, keep working man, this game has a lot of potential :)
