I have a question, when you imported your project, did it come with Layers and tags all right?
Select your character's Hips bone (first bone of the rig) And put his Layer as PlayerBone, and press to apply to childrens too. And test to see if it worked.
I promise that in the next update it will be much easier to create a character, with just two clicks.
