Although I wasn't nearly as acutely aware of my gender feelings as Alex, SLH deftly captures the experience of growing up online in the Y2K era. I knew Andy's, Jenni's, Laguna's, and Sammy's. 13 was a long time ago for me but the cozy message board community is so beautifully realized that I felt like I was a middle schooler using the family computer again.
