Maybe the resolution is the problem, when you open the game you should see a window that lets you choose the resolution (1920x1080, 1280x720, etc.). Try a low resolution and turn on the "windowed" option so that it doesnt go full screen. Are you still seeing black?

I have had a similar problem. I downloaded the game through the itch,io application, and when i launched the game, i had set the resolution and graphics quality to the lowest possible. The game showed the screen with "the new school parsons" then MUIFWEGO... Then what should be the title screen is just a black screen, with the music in background. Also i am running Windows 7 and 32 bit.

I don't really know what could be causing this problem, I honestly think that the video card might not be able to handle the game but I don't want to give up so quickly.
Could you play other games? Whats the biggest game you've been able to play on the computer?
Could you send me your Video Card, Ram, CPU, Operating System information so we can try and find whats the source?
Could you try setting it to Compatability mode?
Hopefully we can figure this thing out,
