Fantastic!

I was pleasantly surprised by this game. I was doubtful at the start, but I ended up playing for almost an hour. The art and animations are outstanding, definitely the best quality of this game. The gameplay is very satisfying at times, but I feel that some things should be more lenient, for example as Gentle_Squirell said, getting caught on the corners of blocks. It didn't happen very often, but it feels very cheap to fail because of something like that. I feel this game is at it's best when you're going as fast as possible, and some of the later sections encouraged taking your time instead. I wanted to go as fast as I could, but many times I had to slow down to get through some precise parts. The difficulty curve is also a little too steep. I think it's a good idea to unlock harder sections as you keep playing, but I found myself dying to the same sections again and again just because I hadn't seen them before or they were too difficult in comparison to the sections before. However, I still think this is a very satisfying experience, and definitely has a lot of potential. With all that said, here are a few more things I think you should improve:

-Add a way to tell whether you can dash or not, i.e. the hair color in Celeste

-Maybe make the black thing that follows you slightly faster than your running speed, but slower than your dashing speed. I think this would make it much more threatening

-Make the story/memories/progression clearer and easier to follow

-Speed up the animation after the end of a level or section or whatever it is

-Allow the use of left/right buttons on gamepad, and general keybinding if possible

Other than all of this, I think this game is incredibly fun and addictive, I came in with low expectations and I was far from disappointed. Great game so far, and I wish you the best in further development :)
