Windows 10, Strive for Power version 1.0

Hi all, I saw that there has been a post about this previously already in which it was advised to change the setting from "always" to something else then change it back which, at the time, solved the problem. However, for me, no matter how much I tinker with the settings, Alise's daily report will not show. Anyone else experience this or has another potential fix? Thanks in advance.

You report that your game version is 1.0, but the most recent version at the moment is 1.0a because 1.0 had some significant problems when released. Please verify whether this was an incorrect statement or if you are using the wrong version of the game. Also, if you played a version of the game prior to 1.0 and you are continuing a save file, then it would be helpful to know which version you played.

If you are using any mods then please list them as they may change game files or break stuff.

The fix for changing the setting twice was used because that option was never updated to show the actual value saved to file. This has been fixed and I see no issues in my game. Though we may be talking about 2 separate issues.

To clarify your problem: does the end of day report with tabs "Global Report", "Job Report", "Secondary Report" appear? The option for "Alise on Day End" changes the aesthetics of the report by changing when Alise appears beside the report. The report itself should always appear at the end of the day.

For many computers the game starts with 2 windows: the game and a terminal that reports the Godot Engine and OpenGL ES versions. The terminal also reports errors as they occur, so leave that window in a visible location on screen and run the game up to the point where Alise's daily report fails to show. Post the errors either in text or in a screenshot (Snipping Tool on Windows is useful for this), and note when the errors appear.

Edit: If the second window does not appear. Please enable the "Use file error logging" option and restart the game. Upon exiting the game (not crashing out), it will create a log file in the "%appdata%/Strive/logs" folder. You can also access the Strive AppData through the load/save menu when in a game progress.

I'm sorry, it was my mistake. I have confirmed that I have the most recent version, which is then 1.0a. I am not using any mods whatsoever, but my save file is from the previous version of the game, right before the release of 1.0/1.0a, which I unfortunately forget the version number of, but as it happens, 1.0a literally came out the next day that I started my game and I then continued my save file with it. As far as I know this issue did not immediately surface at the time, in fact I am almost sure of this.

The three tabbed report "Global report", "Job report" and "Secondary report is the box which does not appear any longer, and this is my problem, as I do wish to know the day-to-day goings on. Alise appearing is inconsequential and I apologize for being vague about this. The report not only does not appear, but clicking the button in the lower right corner of the menu which normally brings it up on command, is also not functional (it's clickable, but does nothing.)

As of now, I have just booted up the game, and advanced time with the hourglass icon; there are no errors in the secondary, black window with the Godot engine logo. It's just the standard Godot engine intro and my graphics card in the second line which has always appeared.

Thanks for your response, and for your patience. I am kind of at a loss as to how this may be fixed, especially since when starting a new game, the problem does not seem to persist (but then, I also did not have this problem with this save before either, it just happened randomly.)

It's possible that it is related to a Cali event bug, where the event triggers an infinite loop in the background that blocks the report. The absence of any error messages strongly suggests that this may be the cause. While this bug should go away by itself after a little more than a week, we can fix it sooner by editing the save file.

You can check for it by opening the save file with a decent text editor and search for "caliproposal"(use the Find/Search functionality). The save file can be located by opening the save folder through the load/save menu when in the mansion.  If you find that text in your file, then search for "calireturn". If this second text does not exist, then the problem should go away when you next end the day.

Before attempting any change to the save file, create a backup as fixing typos is very difficult. To fix the issue simply change the number to the right of the "caliproposal"(probably a 1) to the sum of number to the right of "calireturn" plus 2.

Sorry for only responding so late, I've been super busy. As it happens, I've done exactly as you've advised and the problem was resolved. Not only is the report now constantly coming up, Cali has also made her way back after several weeks of being "absent". I can't thank you enough for your assistance, and I hope your solving this problem will help some others too, should they encounter it. I'm very fortunate that people as knowledgeable as you are here to help. Thanks again!
