Click and drag the main folder from the rar file onto your desktop/some other folder on your computer in order to extract (decompress) the files inside of the rar.
You can't play the game from inside of the rar because the files are compressed and not readily available for use until you extract it onto your drive.
Also, 7zip is a good choice.
