Perhaps its something with how i have the files, but is there something i need to do before i can play?

Are you running the Android or PC version?

If you're running Android you'll have to download the .zip file to a PC, unzip the .apk, and transfer it to your phone.
Or you could download an unzipping app on your phone, and unzip the file directly there.

Do you have DirectX 12+ installed? I know that can cause UE4 some problems
Also make sure the game isn't being blocked by your virus software, when I test the game I always have to run it twice if I don't whitelist the exe location

i do not have DirectX 12+ installed. I unzipped it and it gives me a weird error when i try to launch it

Try installing that first, UE4's error messages aren't exactly intuitive, it's very possible that is what's causing the error.

It's still not working. its showing its location in my file directory on the error then says something about "CreateProcess returned 2."

I'm beginning to wonder if I didn't unpack it correctly somehow.

I read a little bit about this earlier, and I think I might know a solution. I'm about to upload a new version, hopefully this version should work for you.
