The first screamer made me be at the edge of my sit for the rest of the game. I loved the premise of a mistery game for this theme where you have to investigate and get to the bottom of something. Maybe adding some interaction with parts of the objects you find to build something useful for your research would make the game more related to the Salvage theme.
I played till the end but I didn't quite understood the meaning of it. What would be your interpretation of the story? I'm curious about it.
A point for improvement could be adding some decision making on the investigation process: Maybe the player picks up a clue and they have to go back and do something with it, or maybe they have to get certain clues in a specific order. Idk something like that so the experience is more deep than just moving right and pressing E whenever I can.
I liked the narrative and it gave me misterious and unsettling vibes. :)
