I wishlisted the game on Steam. I hope other devs like you make successor games and put them on Steam because the Rush style gameplay doesn't get enough love.  Your game looks awesome by the way.I saw this the other day at this link but sadly I think they used AI to scrape for an article on a recompilation that doesn't exist. https://www.generationamiga.com/2026/10/04/rush-2-recompiled-revives-the-n64-arc...

In it they claim that someone has recompiled Rush 2 and if you have the 2049 cartridge for N64 you can add 6 tracks to the game as well as optional wings for Rush 2. They leave no source or information where to find the game so it's seems like AI hallucination made up bs. Although, they are known to feature real game projects so I don't know why they would publish that.

yes, Rush 2 Recomp was made with AI. There are good and bad uses of AI, and I am not sure how I feel about recomps. We probably wouldn't have any Rush recomps without it, so I think it's okay in this instance. You need your own copy of the game to add Rush 1 and 2049 content. They won't share where to find those, you have to dump your own copy or find backups yourself.

Honestly, that project mixes all the content from all three games together which is why I created PJSF in the first place. I started this project before AI could recomp games, before Rush was getting much attention in that regard. It basically fills the purpose of what I wanted PJSF to be, so I am not sure how to continue.

If PJSF continues, it'll probably be to make a crazy custom content branch of Rush and give people a crazy modding platform for racing games in general. That's the only way I can see PJSF needing to exist, between that and adding the arcade-exclusive content. I am not sure if the Rush community is large enough to support that many different versions of the game spreading focus out in different directions, Rush is not exactly as popular as something like Mario64.

I'm going to keep focusing on Mach1 for the time being and I'll decide what to do with PJSF when that's finished.

Hey I will follow whatever you do. AI can be good, but can be deflating to creators as well. The accelerated development of Rush2recompiled proves your point. It's a good thing that it exists, but you have been spending years chipping away at this project only to be beaten to the punch in something similar you were trying to do. I'm so glad you pivoted to your Steam original game and I really look forward to Mach1 on Steam. If you continue PJSF I am all for it but I understand why you might not want to do that. I was so excited about the Rush2Recompiled that I bought used copies of Rush 1 and 2049 on eBay. I already owned Rush 2. I dumped my own N64 games using my Retrode and tried the game out last night. It is great fun and can't wait to see what community mods come out for it. The developer is iterating fast and there are so many options already. I can't believe that he added online play already. Good luck in your original works and I look forward to Mach1 in the future!
