Thoughts on The Next Adventure Jam

I am currently not a user of Adventuron but I enjoy playing and rating the games. I was very impressed by the quality and there were no bad games. Well done!

There is one thing I would like to see improved: Turn off (if possible) the statistical "adjustment" of the raw scores. The raw scores are the best metric. Such adjustments are always based on assumptions that might as well be wrong. It seems wrong that the three games which were adjusted came in on 5th, 6th and 7th place. For instance, "Dawn of the Soviet Ladybirds" came in on 6th place even though its raw score was 2nd best (tie with Over Here!).

Anyway, it was a nice jam :-)

Thanks for the comments.

I agree that raw score is a better measure, and yes it was unfair that Christopher's game was demoted because of adjustments. Previous jams never had this adjustment factor so I assume it's a new itch innovation. I'll enquire if I can be disabled in future jams as you suggest.

Anyway, well.done to Dee and to all those involved. It's a small scale jam but the games were not small in their ambition. Most entries invested tens or even hundreds of hours into their entries which is very humbling.

The next jam will likely be Christmas focused. I really hope it will be the biggest one yet.

I demand a recount!  (joking...)

See you next time round.
