Regarding the baptismal fonts, they are not bugged! Their purpose is to allow you to recharge your mana.

Here's how they work: as you defeat a certain number of enemies, you gradually unlock different attack "combos". There are several combos to discover as you progress through the game. However, using these combos consumes mana, and eventually your mana bar will run low.

That's where the baptismal fonts come in! Once you've unlocked some combos, simply stand in front of a baptismal font and crouch down, just as you do when interacting with a save altar. This will activate the font and recharge your mana.

There are also a few other interactive objects in the game that you should keep an eye out for:

• Fire altars: Once you obtain the Sword of Saint George, the most powerful weapon in the game, you'll notice that its power gradually decreases as you use it. To recharge it, simply stand in front of one of these fire altars and perform an attack. One strike is all it takes!

• Cursed altars: These are collectible objects that unlock a special part of the game. However, you can only destroy them once you have obtained the Double Axe, as it is the only weapon capable of breaking them.

• Small donation boxes inside some temples: These work like little penitence boxes. If you have at least 10 coins, simply crouch down in front of one and donate the coins. In exchange, your health will be restored!
