About the disappearing cannons, that's a strange bug I've only seen on certain devices, the tower seems to glitch slightly under the terrain. I've tried tracking it down, but since the game is submitted for the jam, I can't push updates right now.
Good catch though, definitely one of the first things I'll fix once the jam voting period is over.
