The art style is great and consistent.
The gameplay feels like it's actually designed for the GameBoy. So many commercial console (PS!, especially) point-and-clicks just plaster mouse controls mapped to a controller, and this approaches it in a way that takes away the feeling of a shoehorned cursor, despite the viewfinder thing being literally said cursor. That's a feat in itself.
The coins are well-hidden in sometimes bizarre places, making finding them feel rewarding.
The unexplained prohibitions of furniture use call into question the quality of life in the custody of the main character's aunt, and perhaps hints at motivation for their dad to surreptitiously send them a letter to board the bus. But maybe I'm really overthinking this part lol.
A wonderful vertical slice of a game.
