I played both the demo and the alpha version. The demo was already simple and easy to pick up, with enjoyable controls, good music, and satisfying feedback. The alpha feels much more developed. The tops and their different effects were already in the demo, but now there are actual characters built around them, more varied opponents, and more mechanics and settings overall. Despite that, the game never feels overloaded. The 3D visuals, character models, and arenas also look much better. I haven't played long enough to judge the progression or meta yet, but overall it left a very positive impression, and it's something that makes me want to keep playing.
