Thanks for taking the time to check out the game (or at least, in the future)! I'm also still pretty new to game development, having only started last year. So far me and my friend have only really learnt Godot, which is also what this project was made in. There is no discord server rn (I don't really use discord), although if at some point we actually finish the game we may still create one. Thank's for the feedback about the web versions, I'll check out how that works at some point. Do you know if save files also function properly when using a web build?

Also I checked out your games, they look really nice! What engine did you use, if you are only learning Godot now (or did you not use a game engine)?

PS: yeah this is not a great way of communicating but rn I don't really have another way.

Save files should work on web versions, but there might sometimes be issues (I don't know how that is with godot, but I think I heard from someone that you can't upload a web version if you use C# for programming the game in godot, although I'm not sure if that's (still) true).

For the games on my itch account I just used gamemaker, which was pretty easy to get into imo, but I do have some issues with it. For example you can't really make 3D games (I mean, you can, but like.. same thing with scratch, making a 3D game in a 2D engine means you have to figure out rendering and positioning without help from the game engine which would probably be a big hassle). Also deltatime in gamemaker is pretty bad, so almost nobody actually uses it. (I don't know if you know, but deltatime is the time it took to render the last frame, which is used for calculating things like speed to work even if the fps isn't at a constant value (without using deltatime the game would slow down if you're at lower fps and speed up if you're at higher fps which is the case for most gamemaker games)).

Also it's cool knowing other people in the school are working on games that are not in roblox lol (I don't have anything against roblox, but it's just not for me personally).

And yeah I also don't really know a different way of communicating without leaking my e-mail on itch to give it to you :)

I'll check out web builds soon, although rn I have to focus on the other part of the project, that being the research (making a game was the fun part, now I have to deal with the boring part of choosing game genres as topic). I'll make a discord account at some point, but if you do wanna email me, my name is the one that starts with a P in the email from school (and the mail should automatically find my email address).

And yeah I also didn't realize there were others interested in gamedev (although I guess with the amount of people on our school it's kinda logical).

Alright, good luck on the research part and I will probably e-mail you later. Also I'm gonna try to play the game in the evening today. I haven't beaten any metroidvanias or RPGs, but I've played a bit of hollow knight and one of my most played genres are 2D platformers, so I hope I can give helpful feedback :D
