this was great. the slow unraveling of the relationship between the main couple told in this matter-of-fact way through personal letters and like a historical recount makes for a great contrast in what others saw happen and what the ex-girlfriend felt throughout it all. i'm honestly struggling to put into words how this work made me feel. i'm not american but where i live has a similar queer history that very casually erases trans women from the narrative, which always makes me quite upset, so to see it analogous in a different part of the world makes me think, damn, it's the same everywhere. (even if this game is a work of fiction like you have said, lol).
the aspect of hiding your sexuality and gender for a career is also a topic i'm all too familiar with. it's just so much easier to pretend to be cishet; especially since people who aren't trans have all sorts of opinions and questions about who and what you are. it's hard to be open about it even in the 21st century when times have changed (i like to believe) and there's more awareness on it. i understand the way clara gets upset about having to hide her relationship with georgia. i also understand georgia hiding her relationship with clara, as well as hiding her gender. sacrificing yourself for your job is unfortunately a very common thing to do even now. it's seriously so difficult for gay people, even though it really shouldn't be.
anyway. all this to say thank you for sharing. really loved it. hope to see more from you! :)
