First thing, big men make my brain go brrr, especially a big man with scars. Secondly, at least in my playthrough, he was very sweet to me, and it made me sad that I couldn't take him with me. Plus, I have a thing for slashers, so him being a killer doesn't really faze me. Plus, him not being treated well by his family makes him sympathetic.
