now that I’ve slept on it, also: I love the way the game explores connection between love, art and personhood, how neither can exists without the others. loving, creating and being are equally desirable to Aqat and he wants them in ther raw imperfect forms, not polished to a golden shine.
I love the details of nudity being expected and normal in the baths but not on the streets and then again normal in the cistern. love that stale water and bugs and moss and lichen are positioned as ultimate living beauty. I love that the ways all bodies change can be a new opening for sexuality, creativity and identity, no matter how messy. that a body changed from what you fell in love with is not only still worthy of love but is in a new way erotic and exciting.
