Overall Impression 1/5 - This is literally Pokemon.  If you're going to go to the trouble of recreating a game, why not put your own spin on it and at least change the branding?

Gameplay 1/5 - I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing wrong or this version of the game is broken, but professor Oak won't give me a Pokemon, and I therefor can't get out of the beginning map.

Graphics & Art 2/5 - Looks pretty rough.  I like that you gave the ability to create a character.  But the actual models differ very little.

Audio & Music 3/5 - The music sounds like a game boy game.

Use of the Theme 5/5 - Pokemon counts as any game!

Thank you for taking the time to play the game and leave such detailed feedback!

  1. Overall Impression: You're absolutely right that this is intentionally very close to the original Pokémon Game Boy experience. The goal of PokeFefu is precisely to recreate that classic experience, including the original-style map, while adding my own twist with 3D graphics, multiplayer, parties, Pokémon hunting, duels, customizable skins, and other online features. The "Pokémon" style is part of the concept: it's meant to feel like revisiting the Game Boy classic in a new format.
  2. Gameplay: Something may have gone wrong with the browser. Professor Oak should give you the Pikachu and allow you to continue. I tested it again in an incognito window and it worked correctly. I'll definitely keep an eye on this because getting stuck at the beginning is obviously not a good experience.
  3. Graphics & Art: I deliberately chose a low-poly style. One of my goals was to keep the game lightweight enough to run on older computers and even mobile devices, so I made a conscious trade-off between visual detail and performance.
  4. Audio & Music: Exactly! 😄 The intention is to bring back that Game Boy feeling, including the style of the music.
  5. Use of the Theme: Well... you got me there! 😂 The whole idea is basically reviving Pokémon in a Game Boy-inspired style, but in 3D and multiplayer.

Thanks again for the feedback. Even when the criticism is tough, it helps me understand how the game feels to someone playing it for the first time.
