after giving a lot of tries i can absolutely not figure out what im supposed to do, i read all the text and even the walktrough but that didnt help much. Reading the explanation on how the monster works was confusing and to my point of view, its pretty much useless to try and hold on.
You never gain any distance by trying to pull against it, so the logical thing is to try and cut each cord as fast as possible but even so it feels like you can never get enough to reach the end, maybe the point was that struggling against the monster IS useless, but if that is the case then i can say that the message didnt hit as hard as it could if there was more struggle, i dont really feel the sacrifice of cutting the cords if i can barely register the choice.
That aside i really like the concept and i think with a bit more polishing this could be a really nice and memorable game (make losing cords more visually impacting or notable in gameplay) (and an easier to get gameplay so that you can actually pick up on it on a first playtrough)
Also, while it was mostly confusing, i like that the game explains the gameplay in such detail (exact amount of pixels you move and seconds you take), it gives a similar feeling to like a saw movie and makes for some good anticipation before you start the game.
