This game has an aesthetic I do quite enjoy: the 2.5D perspective, the global illumination (with some simple reflections) and simple textures and models. It feels a bit like early 3D animation in a way I really like. The plot plays on conspiracy theories in an irreverent way similar to some other media I also enjoy.
That all being said, the stairs have a collision shape which makes them very awkward to scale. They should act like a ramp, so the player can scale them easily. I really wish there was more feedback on the player input: sound effects, more expressive animations, etc. The attacks looked like they might have had an animation, but the player sprite blocked them most of the time. The camera angle is tilted a little too far down, and I wish it was titled up more or had a little more flexibility to be moved.
The main character sprite is clearly flat with the camera's perspective, but it doesn't line up in a believable way with environment.
The other character sprite feels more in line with the scene. I'm not sure if that's just because the main character sprite is locked to the camera, or if it is because they are actually at different angles with the environment.
The second explosive charge location seems to disappear if I save or reload the game before getting to it. The keyboard controls are kind of awkward. I wish I could either use the mouse to move the camera or use a controller. Using the arrow keys for the camera is okay, but it feels a little awkward especially when paired with WASD for movement and number keys for attacks. I just don't feel like I have enough hands.
To be clear, I enjoyed this game, and I do feel like it has promise.
