What timing! I happen to search Itch for exploration games and find this gem one day after release! I've already started playing and I love the art and design work you put into it. Open world exploration with custom character design? Just the kind of RPG I like! Thanks so very much for this game!
So far I am! I do think I might have found a bug, however-- when the game first started, I was having to manually center the little action slider when it was moving in combat (like in Undertale), but after a little while, it vanished and suddenly all my attacks are automatic? I saw there was an option to turn this on and off in the game (a character at an inn explained manual versus automatic), but I never changed it to automatic in the options and when I look it's showing that as still turned off. Is this a bug or does it swap to automatic when you've filled up your SP bar?
The slider fills your SP up. When at 100%, the slider will stop appearing during attacks. If you use a special, your SP will go back down to 0% and the slider should show once again if SP gain is set to manual. If it's set to automatic then the slider will never appear and every attack will gain 10% SP until it reaches 100% again.
