I know that this is only a demo so things will be added as more work is done and the game continues but since a demo is typically a preview of what is to come I'm going to leave a review that I'll edit/add to as more is released.
I would like to request an option to turn off the text shaking. I understand that it's to convey emotion but it's used a lot and after a while it started making me feel sick. It also just made things hard to read sometimes. I found myself skipping forward a few times and then just going back to read in the history page, which kinda made the experience less impactful as I couldn't watch the expressions change and read what was being said at the same time.
The game is visually beautiful. I love the art style and all of the little details that go into the backgrounds. I spent a lot of time just looking over each new image.
The audio design is also really good. It really made the tense moments that much more anxiety inducing in the very best way.
Character design is lovely. I am especially obsessed with the LIs' eyes and smiles. Killer combinations (no pun intended). I also really liked and appreciated the character profiles you added. It was cool to get detailed, up close looks at them.
I do not like the MC. Well, I like her as a character, she is very well written, but I would rather her have her own name and I just be a passenger in the backseat to her story. She's not a character that I could "be" and she wouldn't be an oc that I would make. Especially because she has a distinctive appearance that players have no control over. That's a personal preference though and I don't expect any changes to be made about it. Just player feedback that you may or may not want to take into consideration if you were to make more games.
I saw the developer say that more impactful choices are coming with updates and I'll trust in that but for the demo specifically I wasn't particularly impressed- but I admit that might be influenced by how much I didn't like the MC. I'm looking forward to seeing how our choices influence the story in future updates.
Overall I really enjoyed the game and I'm looking forward to the updates! You've got a really engaging setting and delightful characters that make an interesting story. Amazing work for your first game!
