Overall impression
I loved playing the game. It has a really good feel to it and the vinyl static in particular is very relaxing, it has the kind of atmosphere that makes me feel like there is an arg hidden somewhere.
I'll definitely recommend it to my friends, and support the game financially as soon as i can S2.
Movement and controls
One thing that felt a little strange was not being able to jump while running or running while using the jetpack, makes the movement feel less fluid as the style made me expect something like teardown's movent (but thats on me).
It could also be nice to have the option to turn running and ascending with the jetpack into a toggle, rather than always needing to hold them.
another qol would be to automatically climbing 1 block high obstacles, as it would maybe make the movement more seamless.
I also noticed that the player character feels very tall (or the blocks are small), wich makes the scale a little unusual.
Audio
The dirt Breaking sfx feels very crisp/sharp. I'm not entirely sure if it is an issue, since it feels kind of an intentional audio design choice, but it stood out from the other blocks enough to warrant a mention
Drones
It would be really cool to be able to name the drones. I think giving them individual names would make them feel more there you know? Kind o hard to explain.
Progression and Economy
On the late game it started to feel a little grindy. That being said, the section is fairly short, so it did not become a major problem.
I also noticed that gold eventually becomes irrelevant , which makes it feel less meaningfull, to a point i stopped caring about the ores, they just accumulated on the ground (which was really impressive btw, really good optimisation dev). It would be interesting to give it a additional purpose later in the game, maybe consumables idk.
Final thoughts
Despite all these relatively minor points, i had a blast hollowing that mountain out, the swarms of drones felt to amazing to watch. The atmosphere, overall feel and audio design really stood out, i am very excited for the future of this game. <3
