Hi. I am a semi-beginner dev learning to make game in godot. I really really love the way you have made the animations for main menu buttons and the color splashes that happen in the main menu and also in the game. Can you please give me a little explanation of how the color splashes are made? I would really like to learn them. I loved your game and hope you make more amazing games like this in the future. I Thank you for your time.

So, thebookofshaders.com and godotshaders.com are good places to start to learn this. This is a variation of the ripple effects you can find on godotshaders easily enough.

Basically, it takes a timestamp and x,y of mouse position on hover. Every frame, it draws a circle based on the drops age, using some math to start out fast and then slow down, as if it was spreading like a ripple would.

There's some noise to make it not a perfect circle, a darker rim, and the alpha fades out after a short period. Those give it that watercolor effect layered onto the ripple effects you can find from the links above.

Hope that helps you!

I was also looking to get better at shaders so thank you for these recommendations! Also really cool game!

OMG.. Thank you sooooo much. It's going to be awesome learning so many cool things. Though I feel like it will be a step learning curve. But I think the more I'll struggle, the better I'll learn. Thank you again.
If you don't mind, can I please add you on discord? I want to ask questions if I get stuck in somewhere. My discord username is 'On4ll', incase you don't want to share your username here. Thank you again. All the best in your gamedev journey too.
