The art and visual effects are stunning. It may be a weird detail to mention, but even the snowflakes at the start falling had depth, some in the foreground, some in the background. The colours and brushwork on the images too are beautiful, especially in the numerous sky images. I often paused reading just to look at the art.

I also think the UI looks very beautiful and polished. All transitions are very smooth, which makes the whole experience very calming.

I do feel a little smarter after playing. The writing and prose are advanced, so I had to focus while reading, but that really helped deliver the depth and flavour of the story. It felt like reading an old fairy tale in the evening, only complete with a blanket and some hot chocolate.

Also the cliffhanger really got me! I'm looking forward to see how it continues! <3

I can't believe you noticed all those small details! Indeed the snow at the beginning has two layers, thanks to the particle system linked in the credits. I would have liked to add more particles in other parts but I ran out of time. Also for the UI, I used a preset too, so credits to the original creator for the animations! But I fully customized it with my own graphics.

I'm especially glad you enjoyed the writing! Indeed, I wanted to create something cohesive, mixing art and writing to create a very specific feel... but I was very nervous about it! I wondered if it'd feel off or be too complicated unintentionally. Exactly as you say, I was very inspired by classical short stories, those tales that are very beautifully told but also have a tint of melancholy or sorrow. It's super elating to hear I might have succeeded! c":

Anyway I'm very thankful for being able to hear your thoughts, thank you so much for sharing!! In the future I want to weave this story into a longer anthology, and although all stories are different, I'm excited to see how this story will feel along the others.

The plot being on the simpler side definitely helped with keeping the writing understandable, so any complex concepts or plots may become a little challenging for non-native english speakers like me to comprehend. But I believe you could pull it off, especially if you have more time than you get for a game jam
