Not really! Mild spoilers: The basic mechanic is that you can flirt, gossip, boast, or impress the other characters, and each of the characters has either likes or hates each of these actions. If you keep doing something they like, they will propose to you or accept a proposal, which is one way to finish the game. If you keep doing something they don't like, it might end in a different way.
In the meantime, each of the characters are also interacting with each other in the same fashion, so the game might end if someone else gets proposed to.
You can also accuse people of crimes, should a crime occur.
