I think in the future, we should add some small colored flowers (and maybe mushrooms ?).
Making the plants move in the wind later on could give it a lively and appealing look.
This is just to give you some ideas.
Even though it's 16 x 16, it still represents a lot of work.
The character is beautiful and well-animated.
The color palette is lovely.
Everything you've already created is great.
