Thanks for sharing the CC info, I'll check it out because it sure is useful, but what I meant with my question was, what did you had in mind?
Redoing some or all assets in a manner that they had nothing to do with Nintendo so they could be used on commercial projects?
You had a specific set of units in mind already?
Something like that is what I meant.

If you have done a complete rework, and if they don't have nothing to do with actual nintendo assets, you can do probably these things:
- Make assets paid at a scale people can buy, and make your page beautiful, then share this asset pack on unity asset store and fab also.
- Do not make these assets paid, release it under CC0 or CC-BY, (or some version of CC) or attach your asset usage in this page, but then start making these types of assets more and more, and open a patreon and paid versions of assets.
for example you can make these assets, and in the end let's say there is 100 unit assets in total  for this pack. You would release 75 of units free, and other 25 if you pay 5.0$, with source files.
There is actually examples you can look into how these guys are making similar stuff:

In terms of my opinion, these assets look beautiful. You can make this;
- Completely remake these assets so nintendo has nothing to do
- Then share them free under certain license, where people can use it in their projects freely for non-commercial and commercial reasons, like make 75%-80% of assets free, but other 20% in paid versions.
- Open a new account for Unity asset store, Skectfab, and Fab (You can release both for Unity and Unreal engine projects). Release 100% of pack (full assets) in there.
- And also open Patreon, where you give special assets sometimes specifically to them, and make a pool where they can select next pack and etc.
- And slowly make other assets also.

The money from assets doesn't comes with just one pack, it comes from a lot of packs selling slowly. So release high-quality cute stylized packs. People definitely going to buy

But I want to inform you that this is going to very long term project and probably going to take a lot of time.
