• firstly the argument of not acting by emotions and like no? i will be acting by emotions? like i will be using reason too but telling me to abandon emotions is just… yeah i dont feel like im in a position that requires cold logic and nothing else

• secondly the manipulation and the question is myrddin manipulating us… probably? to some degree? how big of a degree i obviously cannot say but i cant exactly blame him for doing his best to not loose the first chance of freedom in gods know how long and if he is manipulating us he is frankly not the best at it sure some of the worldview questions building trust and affection sharing things that would be considered vulnerable perhaps faking the interferences and other stuff that i either forgot or did not think of are really things myrddin planned then yeah they’re good but quite frankly myrddin is not… conventionally likable? his personality and interests are not very suited to the whole scheme ofc some of it could be explained as not being perfect and therefore more human but a different personality would’ve worked much better or at least would’ve been much more likely to work all that is to say i believe myrddin when he says that he wants to stay true to himself and quite frankly that kinda makes me okayish with the manipulation bc if he created a whole personality for it id be much less eager to do it (id still do it but the point stands id say (also is this opinion influenced by me being an otome/amare player and being pissed off about yanderes which fake their whole personalities sometimes even change the way they look just bc they think it’ll work better? probably xd but i cannot be mad that he sometime steers the conversation or amplifies stuff so that we’re more likely to help him gain freedom )) <- i might’ve lost the point i was trying to make so in short if all he cared about was freedom he’d create a personality perfect for his “scheme” and adjust it accordingly to our responses which very much did not happen

• thirdly i just think he deserves freedom as anyone does? and i have yet to hear any actual argument as for why he should not have it

• fourthly it talks about imitation like its some kind of sin?? we all learn by imitation and for someone who learned only by books? its not that easy being a person when your only guidelines are books plus at the end of the day everything is inspired by something or is a different take on something and so on and so forth did myrddin teach himself how to be human by imitation and is his power in some way imitation sure and i see nothing wrong with that

• fifthly it showed us what i assume was a extreme self harm or even suicide attempt?? and acted like pushing him to that point in search of freedom somehow means he shouldnt be freed????? like did i misunderstand something bc i genuinely cannot get what the point of showing us this was

• and lastly i am very much petty and the whole talk about myrddin being imperfect, being a failure, being defective pisses me off there was no talk about myrddin being dangerous and stuff just oh he had a purpose and still isnt what he was supposed to be and that just sounds like all those parents that imagine their children’s whole life before they’re even born and then get pissed off when the child is an actual person

quite frankly i think if the book appeared at the very beginning or close to it id free him out of spite (and once again i have yet to hear any actual reason for myrddin to not be freed)
