My only problem with the game is that it looks AI-generated, and I do not like AI-generated projects.
I get that, but it isn’t AI generated. I made the game myself. I’ve spent a lot of time writing the code that the game runs on. I’ve spent hours working on the simulation, figuring out how everything should function, and making sure all the different systems work together properly. I always work hard to make sure everything actually works together. I’ve pulled all nighters working on it, and I’ve put a lot of time and effort into getting it to where it is now. So honestly, hearing that it “looks AI generated” kinda hurts.
The font is one I found someone else using in another space game, and I thought it looked really cool, so I decided to use it. The problem was that I couldn’t change the size, and looking back, I think it was pretty difficult to read, so in Beta 2.0 I’ve already changed that and made the text more readable. Speaking of Beta 2.0, the space background is now procedurally generated instead of being a 2D image. My next goal is to do something similar with the planets because right now they use 2D images wrapped around the planet, which can warp the image and make it look strange. I’ve also noticed that the weather system isn’t actually visible in-game, so that’s another major thing I’m working on. If there’s anything else you’ve noticed that could be improved, definitely let me know. And if you want to contribute any artwork, just tell me what areas you’d like to make art for and send it to barryalen199@gmail.com. That’s an extra email I use specifically for projects, and I’ll find a way to work your art into the game. I’m also trying to keep the game’s resource usage and overall file size as low as possible, but each new version will probably get a little larger as I add more features and visuals. I’m constantly optimizing things to make sure the game stays as lightweight as possible while still improving the overall quality.
