The loop of assigning villagers to tasks, rolling for resources, and dealing with random encounters is incredibly satisfying. It feels like a board game crossed with a storytelling experience. I found myself genuinely caring about my little village and its people.

The encounter table is fantastic. From dragons to bandits to a red moon driving leaders mad—every week brings something new and tense. The d36 rolling system (using a d3 and d6) is clever and makes the table feel huge.

Building options are well-balanced. Do you rush for a Palisade for defense, or invest in a Tavern for extra food and morale? Tough choices every time. The Leaders add nice flavor too, Berne the Bard doubling carousing yields? Yes please!

Okay, this game can be brutal. One bad encounter and you're losing villagers left and right. I lost three villagers to "The Fog" in one turn and nearly rage-quit. RNGesus does not always smile upon you.

Rating: 7/10:  A solid, crunchy village sim that could use a bit more narrative flair and clearer rules, but delivers a great tense experience overall.

thank you so much for the detailed review!
