I plan to add a loading bar to help communicate that it is loading with the next update. I'm pretty sure your device is loading it slowly; you'll have to wait a bit longer for some images to initialize. On the Main Menu, you can also see how long this takes based on the Load Game and Gallery buttons being greyed out until it loads.
