the only thing i can think of is are you using anything to remap your device, steam has something to alter what buttons do what and if im remembering right, someone found that caused issue with detection
That helped fixed it thank you! i didnt set up anything in steam controller stuff but it reminds me that the thing i use mini keyboard in conjunction with my drawing tablet is a "controller" in windows eyes (which is really easy to foget cause its "joystick" is just a joystick piece on top of a dpad, why is this thing a controller internally.) This isnt the first time this thing has made controller weird and i always forget about until it happens -w-. Sorry for the trouble and thanks for making me realize it was that!
