Shift at Midnight takes job simulator games and turns the horror up to nightmare mode.
You start with a mission, a sick pet needing money for medication every few days. This leads to a seemingly mundane job, working a gas station at night. Unfortunately, it coincides with an outbreak of doppelgangers taking over your town.
For every customer that comes in, check their ID, interrogate them a little, and decide whether or not to let them go or take justice into your own hands.
If you're overly cautious and kill a human, you may not meet that quota to help your pet. But get it wrong and let a doppelganger go? That could be a fatal mistake.
Whether you're playing the co-op mode with friends (which is very fun in its own right) or the single-player campaign, there is an incredible amount of content here that I cannot recommend enough.
