Yeah, technically you make yourself the support (slut) of the crew. In other words, yes but not totally. Your chance to gain respect (also losing all those slutty scenes in the process) was be more proactive captain, choose to be a hero when given choice in the main flow of the story.
Compliance on the other hand is a much difficult to address. Because it involves the paying the crew's salary, to make them more happy or compliant but I can't get the grasp on how it will increase. And lot of characters also permanently out of it. While temporary loss of compliance (after the character worked) can be gained by simply letting them rest for days.
