Did you install the SA-1 chip as you mentioned in your main post? As far as I've gotten, it plays fine. I just didn't know that pressing R skips scenes. That discouraged me from continuing.
Forgot to disable the dev mode level skip buttons, no SA1, just the compiler making the same code faster, will do an RC2 with that disabled
