The previous version was released 6 years ago and the new version looks nice. In addition, it seems that BASIC256 was taken over by a new developer and is actively developed. However, the official website( https://basic256.org/ ) doesn't clearly show the news of the new version. Perhaps most visitors still download the old version on Sourceforge.
Version V2.1.Beta03 was released a few days ago. Furthermore, this version may become the formal version V2.1 soon .

There is a very good book for users to learn the language but the book is based on the old version of the language. Will the new developer of the language also update the book?

thanks for the kind words. Don’t worry about the site, a new one is ready to be rolled out together with v2.1 final. Discord server has been created and is linked in the site as well. The book does not need to be updated as no real basic256 functionality has been changed (well, except for the modules )
