There was a bug with the upgrades, i just uploaded a fix. Since there is no saving yet, it sadly wont help in your game. The bug was that i accidently put a hidden fuel cost on the upgrades while i was testing
ah that would explain why i noticed i was occasionally able to purchase levels seemingly randomly then wasnt a problem though since thankfully since the game completion was locked behind new items and not having to get all upgrades
