You need the camera to be really low so you can shoot up. If it’s played on a 2D plane, I feel like that’s unnecessary since it forces you into a specific playstyle. Since I usually play top-down games, I didn’t get it at all until I lowered the camera and realized it was actually shooting

That makes a lot of sense, actually - and that was another thing I forgot at the last minute (namely - some sort of cursor / aiming line to show where you're shooting. The model is a little hard to see from the back.) I'd originally intended for there to be multiple levels, but you're right that even then it doesn't really make sense to have so much freedom of vertical aiming when 95% of the content is on the same horizontal field as you.
