Hello! I'm glad you liked the novel. Maybe I didn't convey it clearly. But i was trying to show that Carla's memory is bad. And she took Frank's joke about new passenger and filled the rest with the airoport association
Carla's memory problems came across just fine! While I was reading it, I was speculating if the trip to the airport might have actually taken place. I was imagining Frank and Carla being the only ones who were there for such a trip. If Frank had made that trip to have an affair or something, and wanted to keep carla from accidentally revealing the secret to his wife, he could easily use carla's failing memory as a cover for it.
