Cool game, I liked your visual style, but I found a pretty funny and interesting thing, when you are in the menu, you can start the game and then the menu will be above everything, it doesn't get in the way at all, and I liked it, so good job!
I tried to keep the number of game states pretty low, one of the ways to do that was just to ensure the settings menu didn't require stopping anything xD
