Creative idea, and starting with a set amount of resources that you have to selectively discard is a novel take on the theme I don't think I've seen someone do yet. It does mostly become an exercise in quickly vibe-checking the cash to weight ratio.
I actually really liked the scrolling ringworld style backdrop, it's a neat effect.
