I now see that you mean more than two actual colors, not steps between, and the answer is still yes in Indexed mode but I don't yet have a video demoing that. I'll make one soon.
Thanks, I tried it in the demo. It works really well! For indexed dithering it would be nice if there was an option to chose a Bayer matrix, like 2x2, 4x4, 8x8.
In the settings panel there are dither options, Halftone dots, halftone lines, Bayer 4x4 and blue noise. I could add the other Bayer matrixes as options. - watch this space
