Its like a lights out puzzle but even more challenging. I felt very accomplished when i beat the 2x2 but I couldn't get any higher than that.

It's like a lights out puzzle but instead of one of two states being valid, one of ten states is - and that probably explains the added difficulty. Well done completing the 2x2, that's more than most people.
