Thanks for the comments and suggestions. Redline is (unashamedly) the main inspo! I rewatched the nitro boost scene like 10x to prepare and absorb the vibes. The other inspo (though not so obvious in this early version) is a game called "Rock and Roll Racing" for the Mega Drive.
