The boss system was added most recent in terms of the whole gameplay loop, along with the grab/ shoot options
I think the issue for being logged off may be due to running out of chips (account balance = 0)
this is also why the login felt a bit out of place, as the idea started simply as a arcade like, high-score chasing experience. A leaderboard was considered but due to limited know-how, and the pivot to a more single player experience with bosses, it was ultimately not used as intended. However, the login should save the chips that you gained, if you enter the same username.

The feeling of the rounds being very fast and the varying tempo may be due to the randomness of blackjack. As a player, getting dealt a hand valued above 11 makes it quite easy to just win with an additional card. Plus, the rules we have in place kind of forces the house AI to bust itself (pick 1 out of a pair of cards that the player missed, closest to 21), originally left in for a difficulty adjustment when we have not implemented the shoot mechanic. After the shoot mechanic, the player could shoot every card they don't want and leave nothing for the house AI, therefore arguably the game became easier, and that the AI busting itself may have sped up the rounds.

Assets and UI polishing are definitely on the list of to-dos for this specific project, the icon was originally planned to be an asset for an upgrade, the time mole. (the spawning of these special upgrade moles are somewhat... irregular and may lead to varying experiences. the 100 chips given made it quite hard to get to an amount allowing players to buy every upgrade or upgrade them enough to feel their function)
